Initially reluctant about coaching, and lacking understanding of the process - I decided to start researching some executive coaches primarily to address both personal and business concerns. During this process, I spoke with the PlayHouse Partnership, who helped me understand the process, and managed my expectations. After this we decided to start our coaching sessions to address some high priority areas. The initial process was really insightful and helped me really pinpoint the underlying issues which I wanted to improve. After this my coach helped me set very clear goals, and timelines which helped me track my progress, and celebrate the small wins which have since amounted to me over-achieving my initial goal, and extending them to newer levels. In addition to this, I find the sessions with my coach to be relaxed, casual and comfortable - there is no awkwardness which was an initial concern of mine. I'm comfortable bringing both work related and personal topics to the table - knowing that I have the support of someone who can untangle any complex issues in my mind. I've since recommended coaching as a principle to many of my friends, and I can't imagine ever not having one as I continue to grow and achieve my goals.

I have so far had about five sessions with my PlayHouse Partnership Coach. From the start he was able to help me feel like I could lay out the different aspects of my life that are important to me, and guide me in identifying which of those were my priorities and focal points for him to support me with during the coaching sessions. The way he discusses subjects with me helps me in realising my own views and attitudes toward things, and that's why I always feel like the sessions are driven by my own inner goals and objectives, but that he acts like the coach in the passenger seat helping me keep on track and stay accountable.

I'm generally quite a pragmatic person, which is why I really benefit from the method of reviewing the previous session and the 'homework' we determine together between sessions. This helps me keep track against the goals we have set and work towards them. I have had about 5 sessions with my coach so far, and will continue to have more so that I can keep the same consistency in working towards my mid/long-term goals. I've really seen great value in these sessions so far, and wouldn't want to lose momentum!
